Pupil Premium

Pupil Premium

Schools are required to report annually to parents their Pupil Premium allocation, spend and the impact that this money has.

The Pupil Premium was introduced in April 2011. Schools were given additional funding, of £500 per pupil, for children from low-income families who were eligible for free school meals, looked after children. Schools with children from families with parents in the Armed Forces are also given some extra funding. The aim of this additional funding is to provide schools with the funds to raise achievement and improve outcomes for these pupils.

At Stannington First School, we have 4 children eligible to receive the Pupil Premium allocation. This funding is used to provide additional teaching assistant time to support in classes and run intervention groups in order to support this pupil and others within the class to raise their overall attainment.
